vas happeenin!?
heeey so I thought I'd introduce to you all the fact that I rather like makeup. haha :) And what better way to do that than a wee "haul" / "what-I-think-about-what-I've-purchased-so-far" post!
For me I feel tired and dead without any makeup on and so using it just makes me feel like I can get stuff done (which still doesn't really happen but hey) and I feel more awake and confident when I'm out :). Anyway last week my mum had some vouchers that were gonna expire from a pharmacy and another department store which both sell makeup and mum didn't know what to use the vouchers for, so I suggested that I've been looking for something in particular that I would rather like to get haha, and so she took the hint and this is what we both ended up buying...the
Revlon Photoready Color Correcting Primer, Revlon Colorstay Eyeshadow Palette, Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters, Maybelline Color Tattoo By Eyestudio, Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Liner (btw sorry I don't have a clearer camera for the pictures and swatches but it's gonna have to do!)
Revlon Photoready Color Correcting Primer 002

Well, I've been using this for about a week now and let me tell ya..I love it! :) It's the first primer I've tried and I'd previously done a lot of googling about the best "drugstore primers" and I'm not American but the brands they talk about under the category of "drugstore" sound like they're cheaper options which is always good haha. I'd read a lot of reviews on this one but I found it was kind of a hit or miss for some..but ultimately I just decided on buying this one because it's either gonna work for me or it's not. This is probably the most expensive makeup thing I've actually bought but we got it a lot cheaper because of mum's vouchers yay mum haha :) My main reason for wanting to buy a primer was to make my face makeup stay on for longer. I find that if i do wear foundation to school (I use Maybelline Superstay Makeup 24hr in "True Beige") so that means I put it on at about 7.20am and I don't touch it up during the day because that would be really weird at my school (pretty much no one wears a noticeable amount of makeup apart from like a few girls) and also I really wouldn't be bothered, when I come home at around 4.15pm its pretty much gone and at night when I go to wipe of my makeup, I'm pretty much just wiping off eyeliner and mascara. So I went and picked this up and I use it over moisturiser (Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturiser Spf 30) and under my foundation or tinted moisturiser and whatever else I'm gonna wear that day. It comes in a wee, well not that "wee" it has 27ml or 0.91 fluid ounces of product which is a pretty large amount for makeup, glass bottle with a pump and a plastic lid. Pretty sturdy, easily pump-out-able (forgot the word for like ease of pump-outage hahaa) packaging which is goood, but I mainly care about what it actually does for me..

It's a pale pinky kinda creamy, moisturiser consistency and I just use my fingers to swipe it on ma faaace. The pinky colour doesn't actually show up on the skin but I think it must have something to do with the "color correcting" claim. Some other people said it didn't make a difference to them but for me I feel like it mutes the redness and unevenness on my skin and makes it look that little bit better and it also feels really nice and smooth, although I tested some others on my hand at the store and they felt reaaaly siliconey and extremely smooth, but this revlon one's not quite that smooth. I definitely like that it mattifys my skin, I'd say I have combination skin, oily t zone and dry cheeks/tip of nose sometimes and this makes my skin not oily and I've noticed my t zone stays matte for longer than it would without the primer which is awesome :) but it still feels like a moisturising mask over my not so oily areas. I'd say it also does keep my foundation on for longer, a wee while ago I helped out as a waitress/kitchen hand for a friend's uncle's function and it stayed put! I put on my foundation at around 1pm or 2ish with the primer underneath, went to the function at 5pm and did not do any touch ups, it was also quite warm from the dishwasher/bbq/sun and the 100-150 odd people around/pretty cute bar guys ;) haha, came home at around 11pm, went to take off my makeup with my skin looking pretty darn alright (a little oily but much less than it would be without the primer) and makeup actually came off on the wipe. Like woah, that pretty much never happens, without the primer all I end up wiping off is maybe a bit of lippy, eyeliner and mascara. But I could visibly see foundation left on the wipe! To me, that's evidence that this primer definitely does make my foundation stay on longer which I love, love, looove. I was a tad iffy at buying it because I'd put on my friend's Revlon Photoready Foundation and it had given me rashes the next day :P and also the foundation has tiny bits of glitter in it, the primer does too but much less visible than their foundation. Overall and so far, I'd say I'm loving this primer and it was worth the money, I think it'll last me a looong time and with the foundation on top it makes my skin look really silky and much better than without makeup I think! Go check it out if you're looking for a primer, I'd definitely recommend!
Revlon Colorstay Eyeshadow Palette in "Attitude"
We bought this because there was this 3 for 2 thing on and mum and I stood there for ages at the Revlon counter wondering what should be our 3rd free item and so we picked this! It's quite a neutral palette which I kinda needed as I'm running out of this one mum and I have kinda been sharing for yonks. It's a really good everyday palette, pretty self explanatory really, nicely pigmented, I've been using it quite a lot now and yeah loving it! They're pretty much all matte except one colour, number 2 as labelled on the back, it's not super glittery or anything but just a nice sheen to it, pick it up if you're looking for a good everyday eye :)
Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in "Red Velvet 040"
I looove these lip butters, before buying this one mum and I share "Creamsicle 065" shown below...
It's a nice peachy sheen kinda colour and is really moisturising and reasonably sheer, I like to pop it in the centre of my bottom lip over almost any other lip colour and it does the whole fuller lips thing because its colour kinda acts like a highlighter! In the swatch it looks quite white/peachy but in real life it looks a little pinkier. I've already used it up quite a bit over Spring/Summer :)
So since we had to use up some vouchers I bought the one in Red Velvet inspired by
Zoella's pretty and slightly dark vampy lipstick she wears a lot of the time...
It's definitely more of a Winter colour so I don't think I'll be bringing this one with me to Australia although I might for a night out. Most of the lip butters are quite sheer but I love that this one is quite buildable and also really nice and moisturising, it really defines my lips and it's the perfect darkish red colour on me as others I've tried normally end up to orangey and too bright red and just don't look good on me. I'd definitely recommend it because it's suuuper pretty and creamy and yeah I just love it, so check it out! :)
Maybelline Color Tattoo By Eyestudio in "35 Tough as Taupe"
Moving on to Maybelline now! I was looking out to buy this one because I previously bought another Colour Tattoo in "25 Bad to the Bronze" and I loooooved it.
It comes in these wee pottles and I wouldn't say it's a creamy consistency because it won't come out if you turn the pottle upside down but once you put your finger in there and warm it up a bit it is really easy to work with and is quite creamy and then it sets and stays on for ever. It definitely is waterproof as well! I went in the shower with this on one day and it stayed really well! The water just forms those little droplets that kinda sit on the eyeshadow without smudging it or without it coming off and so I am definitely packing this in my bag for my trip to Australia because I intend to do a lot of swimming! Bad to the Bronze is such a gorgeous, definitely universally pretty colour on any eye. It has hints of golden shimmer in it and its just awesome!
Because I loved Bad to the Bronze so much I decided to get a matte colour too...
Tough as Taupe is a pretty taupe colour (obviously haha) and it's a great neutral shade, nice and matte and has everything I like about Bad to the Bronze but matte and taupe! Nothing more to say really because I think you get the point that I love all of these! Wish I could buy all the colours haha but I decided to spend money on colours I would use the most which are usually quite neutral so I picked up these two! :)
Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Liner in "Blackest Black"

Last product woo! Okay so I got recommended this liquid eyeliner by a friend as I was looking for one I can quickly do just an easy black line on my upper lid with. I am yet again loving this eyeliner! Normally I use my gel eyeliner by Maybelline, but sometimes I'm in a rush (well not sometimes..most of the time) and I don't have time to get out the brush, dip it in and take my time applying, and also sometimes I haven't had time to wash my brushes in a while, so it's all dirty and I don't use it then..sooo I decided to pick up this while I was at the supermarket yesterday because my friend said it's good and I believe her haha :) Anyway you may not be able to see it cos my camera is not quite THAT clear but it's actually a brush with the finest wee bristles all shaped into a felt tip pen..shape (haha don't quite know what other word I can use..) I can get the tip of my winged eyeliner to be sooo sharp I might just stab someone hahaa, it has a nice flow of inky stuff and it sets to stay on for a looong time! Don't think there's much else to say but yeah! I put a wee normal 2B pencil up next to it to compare sharpness and thickness, although the pencil isn't sharpened but wey heey.
WOW that was long..maybe I should've broken it up into separate, mini reviews but oh well, I hope you've enjoyed my haul/review of the things I've bought recently and excited to use! I think that was a pretty good introduction into how much I love make up hah
